The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, confirmed this Monday to the president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Dolores Corujo, the municipal investment proposal of one million euros to be financed with charge to the nominated subsidy of the 2021 Municipal Cooperation Plan. compiled in three projects drafted by the City Council, two of them that improve the construction work of the Playa Blanca Football Field that the Island Council itself is executing on land ceded by Yaiza in the back of the CEO of the town, and another project aimed at building a social center with Canarian ball courts in the back of the Canarian wrestling arena in the town of Uga.
Óscar Noda, who was in the Cabildo in the meeting attended by the president, the mayors of the Iila and the councilors of public works, trusts “in the effective financing" of the projects that they already registered in the Cabildo "last April”.
The Councilor for Public Works of Yaiza, Jonatan Lemes, specifies that “the new soccer field, in addition to the playing field, needs other actions such as electrical installations, changing rooms for soccer 8, changing rooms for soccer 11 and changing rooms for referees, all properly equipped and in optimal conditions of comfort". "The Cabildo is the executing Institution of the project and knows of these needs”, he points out.
Yaiza plans on the other hand to carry out the construction of a new social center with Canarian ball courts for the enjoyment of the residents of Uga. The initiative contemplates a bar, a dining room, which can be used for conferences or neighborhood meetings, and bathrooms with entrance from the bar or independent entrance from the Canarian ball courts. It also estimates the provision of a kitchen, warehouse, pantry, gardens and covered terrace that serves as an extension of the bar-dining room outdoors.
“In Yaiza we have a battery of projects drafted to execute with our own resources and also take advantage of, as is the case, the financing of other administrations. Inter-administrative collaboration is decisive to successfully carry out initiatives of general interest”, concludes the mayor.
