The City Council, presided over by Óscar Noda, is tendering for the construction of ball courts and the social club in Uga for 857,000 euros, opposite the municipal Canarian wrestling ground. The project, initially planned behind the wrestling ground, had been awarded in 2022, but the responsible company failed to meet its obligations and the Institution terminated the contract. Therefore, Yaiza is not only resuming its execution but also integrating this initiative into the project for improvements to the wrestling ground and its surroundings, which has just been awarded for 1.3 million euros.

Óscar Noda points out that "we are allocating 857,000 euros from the municipal budget to this new public facility that promotes native sports and community life. We also have the tender for the modernization of the Uga sports court, for an additional million euros, currently under evaluation, and the sanitation project for this same town, with a budget of 1.8 million euros, is underway, an action we are co-financing with the Government of Spain".

The Yaiza Councilor for Public Works, Ángel Lago, explains that "the complex planned for the Uga club includes a single-story main building housing a socio-cultural center, with a multipurpose room for meetings and player rest, a possible bar-cafeteria, accessible restrooms, and storage, with a built area of approximately 215 square meters." Adjacent to this will be the ball courts area, a 180-square-meter playing field with compacted earth. Companies interested in submitting bids can do so until Monday, December 22, 2025.
