Yaiza highlights that it is executing three major works totaling 10.7 million euros and "boosting the economy"

The Yaiza City Council has highlighted that it is currently executing "three large-scale projects" that update municipal infrastructures with a public investment of 10.7 million euros. “Public investments satisfy citizen demands and offer work in an especially delicate moment, where we also value private promotions that enable the General Planning Plan of the municipality”, underlined the mayor, Óscar Noda.

Yaiza is carrying out the Playa Blanca Sports Hall, budgeted at 6.6 million euros; the link road between A Femés and Papagayo avenues, of 1.9 million euros; and the Atlantic Park, which involves an investment of 2.2 million euros, apart from other paving actions and construction of sections of bike lanes that the City Council has just finished and road improvement projects of imminent execution.

“In just one week of works that the Atlantic Park has been carrying out, we have been able to verify the progress of the works by the contractor Lanzagrava, which is advancing the earthmoving and elevation works of the plot to start next week with rainwater channeling and electrical installations”, informs Óscar Noda, who this Monday visited the area of action together with the Councilor for Public Works, Jonatan Lemes, and the councilor responsible for the maintenance of public buildings, Rubén Arca.

“Our interest, in addition to supervising the pace of the works, is to confirm that the land is being irrigated to offer little inconvenience to neighbors, to whom we beforehand ask for apologies and understanding”, the mayor specified.

Óscar Noda met on site with two directors of neighboring lodging complexes to address their concerns in order to minimize the inconveniences caused by the transit of heavy machinery.

"When we said during the processing of the General Plan that Yaiza had a Plan, we were precisely referring to the planning of the territory to provide the municipality with educational, sports and mobility equipment. The Plan has allowed us to act with legal certainty, as it has also allowed neighbors to build and legalize homes and individuals to undertake large projects that are also generators of well-being such as the five-star luxury hotel that is being built in Playa Blanca”, the mayor defended.

Regarding the Playa Blanca Sports Hall, he recalls that the City Council already approved an amendment to the project "with the aim of improving the infrastructure”. The basic modification corresponds to the pool, from replacing the vessel made in situ to a prefabricated vessel, “with which we gain a multipurpose vessel to meet practice conditions suitable for the greatest possible number of uses or all those aquatic programs that enjoy greater demand”.
