The Yaiza City Council is finalizing the rehabilitation works of the San Marcial del Rubicón sports center in Playa Blanca with the aim of opening these new facilities dedicated to recreation and citizen leisure next February.

This was announced by the mayor Óscar Noda, who this Friday confirmed the progress of the works together with the first deputy mayor, Ángel Domínguez, and the Councilor for Sports, Ángel Lago, pointing out that “the municipal dynamic has been to revert the economic health into well-being” of the Administration he presides over, because they criticize that "good intentions are not enough to execute projects, you have to have availability of financial resources and Yaiza can boast that it is the most investing City Council in Lanzarote.”

The San Marcial del Rubicón sports center represents an investment of 483,000 euros "to put a disused infrastructure at the service of the public, now equipped with a multifunctional court for soccer and basketball, bleachers, calisthenics machines, a playground and bathrooms that promote healthy activities for residents of the urban area of San Marcial del Rubicón, where Yaiza has already delivered investments in paving, sidewalks, accessibility and a playground," the Council points out.

"Residents of Las Coloradas will also enjoy a center located in their vicinity, as well as all the residents of the tourist town of Playa Blanca," they conclude from the City Council.
