The mayor of Yaiza, Óscar Noda, reports that "the southern City Council gave the green light to the project aimed at favoring the activity of the primary sector in the Temuime Valley that must be executed by the Water Consortium of Lanzarote, consisting of the integral renovation and expansion of the agricultural drinking water network in said cultivation area located in the municipal district of Yaiza, so the local Administration not only makes available to the Consortium the land subject to intervention, but also decrees the exemption of all taxes and fees involved in carrying out the work."
Noda highlights that his "town" knows that he is "a defender of inter-administrative cooperation and of the good relations that should prevail between institutions" and adds that "this conviction put into practice" has allowed him to "execute and finalize projects of common welfare in Yaiza" and he is "convinced that my neighbors do not understand another way of seeing public management.”
The mayor maintains that “the Temuime Valley has a very old supply network that has many breakdowns, so with its integral renovation we intend to satisfy the current needs of farmers and also stimulate the economic activity of the primary sector by facilitating the connection to the network of new agricultural exploitations.”
Yaiza assures that "today it is necessary to implement drinking water supply infrastructures that allow crops to obtain an abundant production, of quality and, above all, regular over time. Once the Water Consortium contracts the works, the estimated execution time is two months", they conclude from the Consistory.
