The Governing Board of Yaiza has approved the contracting file to execute new road infrastructure projects in the towns of Yaiza, Playa Blanca and Puerto Calero, which represent an investment of more than 3 million euros. "We are able to assume it with our own resources and thus give continuity to the road improvement plan that we continue to develop in different parts of the municipality,” said the mayor, Óscar Noda.

The City Council has announced that it will soon publish the public tender, divided into three lots. On the one hand, the project to reinforce the pavement, asphalt, signage and channeling in the streets of Yaiza town, with an estimated budget of 1.3 million; on the other, the reinforcement of the pavement, accessible pedestrian crossings on roads in Playa Blanca, with an estimated investment of 1.1 million euros; and finally, the rehabilitation of the road that connects the IES Yaiza and the entrance to Puerto Calero, whose budget is 950,000 euros.

"Our objective is to intervene as soon as possible on the Puerto Calero road, which shows obvious deterioration, and on other sections that also demand action, such as the Avenida Papagayo in Playa Blanca in the section that goes to Las Coloradas and the streets of the town of Yaiza. During the past and present legislature we have been undertaking projects of general interest that contribute to the safety of drivers and pedestrians and that also, as in the case of the new link road that we have just delivered in Playa Blanca, solve mobility problems and favor the use of bicycles,” Noda stressed.
