The work for the conditioning of San Borondón and Princesa Ico streets in Playa Honda has been definitively awarded. This was announced this Wednesday by the Cabildo of Lanzarote, highlighting the 'Project for Conditioning Sidewalks and Resurfacing' in the two streets of the town.

As explained by the Councilor for Public Works, Jacobo Medina, "the objective of these works is to continue improving the pedestrian accessibility of Playa Honda, specifically we will carry out the integral remodeling of the streets Princesa Ico and San Borondón, strategic roads since they adjoin important public and private infrastructures and also support a large influx of traffic."

The works, which will have an execution period of "seven months", will consist of the demolition of the pedestrian pavement that currently exists for the execution of a new pavement of cobblestones, expanding its width and giving rise to the typology of a single platform.

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, who visited the place together with the vice president and the councilor of Public Works, Raúl de León, has valued "the great transformation that Playa Honda is experiencing, improving the accessibility and road safety of the neighbors of San Bartolomé", to whom he apologizes for the inconvenience that these works may cause.

Likewise, the "reorganization of traffic" of vehicles in Princesa Ico street from San Borondón street to Playa Honda avenue will also be carried out, and the "new canalizations" of low voltage, telecommunications and public lighting will be carried out; the execution of a "new irrigation network and new green areas", in addition to the design and implementation of "bus stops" and a "new garbage container" siding.

The works, which have an award budget of "1,373,951.94 euros", will be executed by the company Señalizaciones Villar S.A and financed in an "80% with 'Canary Islands Development Funds' (FDCAN) and 20% with own funds from the Lanzarote Cabildo".
