Two flights that were scheduled to depart from Madrid to Lanzarote have been canceled due to the heavy snowfall in the country's capital, which is affecting the operation of Barajas Airport. Passengers who were going to travel with Ryanair and Easyjet will remain on the ground due to the adverse weather conditions, according to Aena. These two cancellations have also affected the opposite route with these two companies, i.e., from Lanzarote to Madrid, which has been suspended.

The Ryanair flight was scheduled to depart at 10:15 a.m., but this has been impossible because the snow covers the aerodrome's runway in white. In addition, Aena has indicated that the Easyjet plane, which should take off at 2:30 p.m. from Barajas to Guacimeta, has also been canceled. As this plane has not been able to depart, the opposite operation, scheduled for 3:05 p.m. from Lanzarote to Madrid, has been canceled.

Likewise, the other three flights that were scheduled this Monday between Madrid and Lanzarote are also being affected by this polar storm. Thus, one of them, from Air Europa, has landed in Guacimeta with a 40-minute delay.

Another Iberia air operation has departed from Madrid with a three-and-a-half-hour delay. Thus, it should have taken off at 12:00 p.m. and it did so at 3:12 p.m. Therefore, this plane is scheduled to make its return with more than three hours of delay, so passengers who must travel with Iberia to Madrid will have to wait at the terminal.

Finally, the Spanair flight from Lanzarote to Madrid scheduled for 2:20 p.m. is scheduled to depart at 5:30 p.m., according to the Aena website.
