The works council of the Art, Culture and Tourism Centers of the Cabildo of Lanzarote has denounced that the management of the company has proposed that jobs in the public company be filled through temporary employment companies (ETT). A measure that has already been questioned by the workers.
The committee points out that this possibility was raised by the Human Resources Director in a meeting held with the workers of the Farmer's Monument and recalls that a year and a half ago an employment regulation file was proposed (which finally ended in agreed dismissals) because, according to the company, the staff was oversized.
The workers emphasize that "that is what they have sold us for months, despite the fact that the works council repeatedly requested the realization of a job position report (RPT) to see the necessary personnel in each workplace, a fact that the management has irresponsibly not carried out".
The committee also criticizes that the company assured that the collective agreement was a "straitjacket" for the organization of work and that, after the agreement of July 2010, the workers facilitated "all the instruments that the management needed, such as geographical mobility, staggered entrances, split shifts or annual calculation for the management of human resources, and now surprisingly they propose the hiring of personnel through a temporary employment agency".
"For all this," the workers point out, "we consider that the management is floundering, given that income has increased, personnel expenses have decreased and there is greater labor flexibility for its management, but nevertheless, crazy proposals continue to be made, such as holding a concert on July 23 at the Centers and the collaboration of a macro-concert by a large music chain on the same day." The workers assure that "actions like these do not help to improve the financial situation of the entity".
