Representatives of the Lanzarote tourism business association have met with those responsible for the Civil Guard in Lanzarote to learn in depth about their devices and resources. The meeting, in which businessmen and managers of accommodation complexes and other companies in the sector linked to tourism participated, took place at the Arrecife Gran Hotel.
On behalf of ASOLAN, the meeting was headed by its president, Susana Pérez. The Civil Guard was attended by its chief captain in Lanzarote as well as those responsible for the barracks of Costa Teguise, San Bartolomé and Puerto del Carmen. Another follow-up meeting is scheduled for tomorrow with those responsible for the Benemérita in the municipality of Yaiza, which includes the tourist areas of Playa Blanca and Puerto Calero.
The Insular Association of Hotel and Apartment Businessmen of Lanzarote, ASOLAN, wanted to know with this meeting the means of the state security forces in the Island. In this regard, as noted at the meeting by the commanders of the Civil Guard, "Lanzarote is a safe island and as such should be promoted abroad".
"We analyze the data jointly and compare them with the ratios of other Spanish tourist areas, southern France and Italy, and we can ensure that Lanzarote is among the safest tourist destinations", it was noted at the meeting.
The commanders of the Civil Guard conveyed to the businessmen and managers a series of tips and preventive measures to reinforce security in these areas during the summer period, in which a greater number of trips by tourists is expected.
The president of ASOLAN, Susana Pérez, advocated reinforcing security as a preventive measure and thanked the commanders of the Civil Guard for their collaboration and efforts.
