The Cabildo of Lanzarote held an event on December 19th, in the Assembly Hall of the island Corporation, to welcome the 21 participants in the NOE project "New Employment Opportunities 2025-2026," who are undertaking 12-month practical training contracts in various areas of the Cabildo.
The participants began their working relationship on October 15th, through this Employment Service project, funded by a grant from the Canary Islands Employment Service of nearly 680,000 euros, to which a contribution from the Cabildo de Lanzarote of around 250,000 euros is added.
The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, and the Minister of Inclusive Training and Employment, Ascensión Toledo, along with members of the island Corporation, participated in this welcome meeting, in which the training nature of the program and the opportunity it represents for understanding the internal workings of public administration were highlighted.
During his speech, Betancort emphasized that this stage will allow participants to learn firsthand about the internal workings of the administration, its procedures, and processing times, as well as to work alongside technical teams with extensive experience. The president stressed the importance of taking advantage of the daily learning offered by direct contact with the Corporation's services.
For her part, the Minister of Training and Inclusive Employment stated that the incorporation of these 21 people represents a real reinforcement for the ordinary work of the Cabildo and, at the same time, an **opportunity for practical training for qualified profiles**. Toledo emphasized that it is a demanding program from an administrative point of view, but necessary to guarantee a complete work experience that aligns with public sector procedures.
The NOE "New Employment Opportunities 2025-2026" project's main objective is to improve the employability of unemployed individuals with qualified training and limited professional experience, facilitating their job placement through the performance of real duties in public administration. To achieve this, participants receive support from tutors, overall program coordination, and internship managers in each department, who oversee their adaptation and learning during the contract period.
