The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, has thanked the security and emergency forces that have been deployed in Puerto del Carmen on the occasion of the celebration of the patron saint festivities. On behalf of the government group, he has also celebrated the involvement of the festival committee, the residents of La Tiñosa and visitors for "their exemplary, cheerful and cordial behavior".
The mayor and the Councilor for Festivities of Tías, Miriam Hernández, emphasize the massive and festive participation of the residents of La Tiñosa, vacationers, residents of other municipalities and from outside the island in the various events of the program. It should be noted that during some days more than 5,000 people were counted in the Plaza del Varadero.
They highlight the “good atmosphere and the emotional and affective experience” in these celebrations, both in the maritime procession, the festival of artists from the town, the workshops, the Canarian sancocho and the festivals or concerts, among others.
The town hall would especially like to thank the festival committee and participating groups, as well as the Civil Guard, health services, Emerlan, Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, Civil Protection, Boluntis Volunteer Firefighters and Local Police, which had surveillance cameras and live monitoring without any serious incidents being recorded.
“Various council departments, cleaning services, municipal workers and people involved in the more than 60 events held over two weeks, which culminated last night with the magnificent performance of Los Sabandeños and the fireworks, have also participated in these festivities,” concludes the mayor.
