The Tías City Council has put out to tender the drafting of the project to expand classrooms and functionally adapt the CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés, in Tías, which after the execution of this project will have 9 new classrooms.
The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Education, Tomás Silvera, indicate that the project contemplates, in addition to the creation of new classrooms, "totally renovated facilities such as new sports areas, dining room, assembly hall, teachers' room, etcetera". Both councilors highlight the work carried out in the technical office of the Urban Planning area, managed by Ulpiano Calero.
May 20 will be the last day for companies to submit their offers for drafting the project, whose base bidding budget without taxes is 50,000 euros, an item that will be financed by the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands.
The objective of the City Council is to "respond to the endowment needs of the municipality due to the population growth of recent years and adapt the facilities to current regulations".
The CEIP Alcalde Rafael Cedrés is a center that opened its doors in 1977, and since then it has been an educational reference for the municipality, but at present it is "at its maximum capacity". The school has 30 classrooms, in addition to an Enclave classroom.
