Tías says no to violence in football and reinforces sports values

The initiative includes the delivery of a good practice guide and the dissemination of a publicity spot, with the aim of raising awareness among all actors involved in municipal football

Presentation of the 'Tías Plays Fair' project

The Tías City Council presented this Tuesday the project Tías Plays Fair, a pioneering initiative in the municipality that seeks to promote the values of fair play and coexistence in football. This program has the participation of the three local sports clubs: Sporting Tías, Puerto del Carmen and PDC, and is aimed not only at players, but also at club leaders, families and the public attending the matches.

José Juan Cruz, mayor of the Tías City Council, highlighted during the presentation the importance of this initiative to promote a positive environment in municipal sports: "With Tías Plays Fair we want to go beyond the playing field. We not only work with the players to instill in them values of respect and good conduct, but we have also involved the club leaders, so that these principles are the basis of the training. In addition, the project includes a fundamental part aimed at families and the attending public, because we are all part of the sports environment and we must be an example for the youngest".

The project includes the delivery of a guide to good practices and the dissemination of a publicity spot, with the aim of raising awareness among all actors involved in municipal football. These actions are part of the strategy initiated months ago by the Sports area of the Tías City Council, aimed at disseminating and enforcing the provisions of the Organic Law on comprehensive protection of children and adolescents against violence. Within this framework, training has already been given to all sports clubs in the municipality.

"Sport is a powerful tool to educate in values, and with this project we want Tías to be a benchmark in clean and respectful football. We appreciate the involvement of the Sporting Tías, Puerto del Carmen and PDC clubs, who have understood the importance of working together in this cause," said Ismael Cruz, head of the Sports area of the Tías City Council.

"The Tías City Council is clear that sport is a vehicle for education and social transformation, trusting that Tías Plays Fair will mark a before and after in the way of living and enjoying football in the municipality," they conclude.
