The Plenary of the Tías City Council unanimously approved this Tuesday the update of the urban taxi service fare, which will mean an increase of 9.74% in current fares.
From the Consistory they explain that this plenary agreement, which will be transferred to the Territorial Price Commission of the Government of the Canary Islands, "advances towards an update of the rates that had not occurred since 2016." They also point out that it also takes into account "the rise in fuel prices and vehicle parts and repairs."
The mayor, José Juan Cruz, and the Councilor for Transportation, Sergio García, pointed out that contact with professionals in the taxi sector has been “constant”. “We understand the requests of the taxi association, we have met with them and we have given them the technical report, to which no allegations were presented,” García indicated.
The councilor explained that the price update affects both day and night rates, flag drop, supplements, holidays, specific Christmas dates and kilometers traveled, among other aspects.
