The Tías Town Hall thanks the Adsis Foundation for its "valuable work" in the implementation and development of the Growing Day Service project, framed within the Co-responsible Plan, which serves several children in the municipality to strengthen parenting and family reconciliation.

The Co-responsible Plan is a public system of responsible care promoted by the Ministry of Social Rights, Equality, Diversity and Youth of the Government of the Canary Islands and financed by the Ministry of Equality of the Government of Spain. In Tías, it is carried out by the Adsis Foundation in collaboration with the Social Welfare team of the Town Hall, managed by Nicolás Saavedra.

The team is made up of three educators and a coordinator, with daily monitoring by the three professionals from the Minors area of the Department of Social Welfare. The council especially highlights "the dedication and professionalism of the project manager, Leticia Curbelo, as well as all the educators who work tirelessly day after day with the children served."

The Growing Day Service started in the municipality of Tías in 2022 through the Co-responsible Plan and a nominated subsidy from the Tías Town Hall. A conciliation space was created for families in situations of social vulnerability at the Alcalde Rafael Cedrés school and in 2023 it was moved to the Los Lirios Sociocultural Center.

Leticia Curbelo explains that a comprehensive intervention is offered for boys and girls from 6 to 12 years old with a maximum of 30 places. Educational reinforcement and coordination actions are carried out with educational centers, prevention and awareness actions, workshops and promotion sessions for health, social skills, emotional management, cultural actions, actions to strengthen parenting and family reconciliation, and sports and recreational activities such as outings and excursions.

The summer hours are from 8:30 a.m. to 2:30 p.m. and during this period fundamentally recreational activities are carried out, such as workshops and crafts. Breakfast and lunch are also offered.

From the Growing Day Service, the coordination and networking of the Adsis Foundation and the Department of Social Welfare teams is highlighted with follow-up meetings, case referrals and the development of itineraries.

They have recently started an evaluation process to measure the impact of the actions, which will continue in early August. The objective is to offer a space adapted to the needs and demands of families and improve the quality of life of the most vulnerable people.

The Tías Town Hall highlights that the intervention of the Adsis Foundation "goes far beyond simple care; it is a comprehensive service that supports, accompanies and works on the needs of both the minors and their families, contributing significantly to their well-being and development."

It adds that "their commitment and effort are an example of effective collaboration between institutions and social entities, which translates into a positive impact for our community. From the Tías Town Hall we reiterate our recognition and gratitude for the work carried out, and we trust to continue strengthening this alliance for the benefit of our children."
