The Plenary of the Town Hall of Tías approved this Tuesday definitively the general budgets of the municipality for this year, which amount to 24,032,629 euros and include the increase of items in social services.
The final approval was supported by the votes in favor of the government team, formed by the PSOE, Lava and Lanzarote en Pie-Sí Podemos, and with the abstention of the opposition. In addition, a specific modification was also agreed through a credit transfer of 970,000 euros to be able to execute different projects such as the conditioning of the socio-cultural centers of Conil and Masdache, and the tourism management office, which will be located in the Biosfera Plaza shopping center.
The mayor, José Juan Cruz Saavedra, explained in the plenary session that the projects for those two socio-cultural centers that had been promoted by the previous government group "were unenforceable". On this occasion, he defends that the action proposals "will effectively comply with the regulations on accessibility, security, fire protection and adequate electrical installations".
The Councilor for Economy and Finance, Tomás Silvera, pointed out that the project for the Masdache socio-cultural center is budgeted at 373,443 euros, while the project for Conil has a budget of 336,986 euros. As for the conditioning of the municipal property located in the Biosfera shopping center, to turn it into a tourism management office and contact point on the III Modernization Plan of Puerto del Carmen, it will have a budget of 150,000 euros.
In addition, during the plenary session, the modification of the extraordinary credit of the 12,000 euro item to the Titiritías cultural association for the celebration of the Titiritías 2021 performing arts festival was unanimously approved, a modification necessary after the change of the association's name.
