'Integrating-T with Emergencies' Project

The Tías City Council congratulates Bomberos Voluntarios de Lanzarote Boluntis for the execution of the project Integrating-T with Emergencies, which closed on Saturday in El Fondeadero. Thanks to this project, eight young people from the Mácher Minors Center were assisted, who received training in emergency matters.

The mayor of Tías, José Juan Cruz, pointed out the importance of this type of initiative that "favors the integration of young people into our society and offers them useful tools for their future." He also expressed his gratitude to Boluntis for "their commitment to the training and well-being of minors."

For his part, the Councilor for Social Welfare, Nicolás Saavedra, explained that this project "has not only allowed young people to acquire knowledge in emergency matters, but has also given them the opportunity to better understand their environment and strengthen their sense of belonging."

Integrating-T with Emergencies, subsidized by the Cabildo de Lanzarote, was carried out from the beginning of November to the end of February. During this time, the participants attended training activities every Monday, Thursday, and Saturday focused on first aid, fire prevention and extinguishing, and water rescue, as well as visits to different areas of the island.

A coordinator, two monitors, an interpreter, and several volunteers worked to "create a common, safe, and structured environment where values such as teamwork, communication, leadership, discipline, responsibility, sensitivity, cultural respect, and a better understanding of the Spanish language can be developed."

The workshops and talks given focused primarily on social welfare, diversity and inclusion, injured wildlife, animal protection, conflict resolution, bandages and wounds, patient immobilization, and road safety.
