The acting mayor of Arrecife, Eva de Anta, presided this Wednesday in the plenary hall of the capital's City Council the act of taking office of three officers and a sub-inspector of the Local Police Force of Arrecife on commission of services.

Specifically, the sub-inspector Francisco Suárez Rodríguez and the officers Miguel Ángel Rodríguez García, Juan Manuel Clar Allí and Vicente Robayna Reyes took office. Eva de Anta was accompanied by the sub-commissioner of the Local Police of Arrecife, José Antonio Lasso, to grant the appointments.

The highest representative of the Consistory declared her "most sincere congratulations" to the police officers and encouraged them "to make this promotion an extra motivation to provide their service with more enthusiasm, if possible."

Eva de Anta pointed out that these positions have been "a constant demand of the Headquarters of the Force" and assured that from the Corporation, "this demand has been supported, without hesitation, as it will result in a better service to the citizen."

New job offer

From the Arrecife City Council it is pointed out that, in the last institutional period, the taking of office of eleven police officers has been made effective, of which four were executed by the procedure of transfer competition and seven by the free opposition route.

In addition, the Consistory recently published a new job offer that includes eight local police positions and one sub-commissioner position, to be filled through the free opposition system. According to the City Council, this public employment offer is published "without prejudice to the command positions that will also be convened during the current year to cover, through internal promotion, the vacancies that remain due to retirement or other causes of leave."

Finally, the acting mayor wanted to publicly congratulate the Local Police of Arrecife for the awards recently obtained from the Government of the Canary Islands. According to the City Council, the Local Police of Arrecife has been in 2019 the local police of the Canary Islands that has obtained the highest number of awards from the regional administration.
