The Yaiza City Council informs that it has proceeded to the temporary closure of the La Degollada picnic area for the execution of the municipal project of improvement works that the Administration presided over by Óscar Noda co-finances with funds from the Municipal Cooperation Plan of the Cabildo de Lanzarote. The initiative underway contemplates the renovation of the playground, construction of bathrooms and perimeter fencing with stone walls.
The execution period is eight months, but the contractor will presumably deliver the works before the agreed time, a project that has a budget of 400,000 euros. In any case, the Yaiza City Council apologizes to the users of the picnic area.
Previously, this same leisure space, highly valued by residents of Yaiza and other municipalities of Lanzarote, had been the object of other actions with municipal funds, such as the construction and provision of five barbecue areas sheltered by stone walls, installation of pergolas for shade, accessibility works, planting of trees and recently the installation of six lighting points taking advantage of solar energy.
