The City Council presided over by Óscar Noda published this Thursday the tender file for the project of conditioning and improvements of the Uga sports court allocating one million euros from the municipal budget to the integral intervention of this facility located near the town's school in an area of 2,700 square meters. Companies interested in the execution of the project can submit offers until October 20, 2025.
The remodeled infrastructure will have a 40 x 20 meter sports court, 27 x 20 m multipurpose court, 17 x 10 m indoor soccer court, bleachers, shade area and lighting, among other amenities, in addition to the accessibility works planned in the project. “We continue our municipal investment program allocating a significant part of the budget to facilities that encourage the development of healthy activities, especially for our children and young people”, highlights Óscar Noda.
The Councilor for Public Works and Sports of Yaiza, Ángel Lago, explains that in the first phase of the project “we will condition the adjacent land with pavement and shade areas so that the students of CEIP Uga can carry out the activities they usually do on the court while we finish the works, and in the second phase we will execute all the actions aimed at conditioning the sports facilities”.
This new project in Uga is part of the set of actions planned in the surroundings of the school and the wrestling ground and the entire plot in front of the field. At the beginning of September, Yaiza also put out to tender the project of improvements in the wrestling ground and its surroundings for 1.5 million euros. The City Council will create 300 parking spaces and carry out public lighting installation works, accessibility works and pedestrian routes to facilitate the circulation of pedestrians.
The mayor recalls that “last May we gathered residents of Uga to inform them promptly about the sewerage project, already awarded, and all these actions that we are tendering. At the time we apologized for the inconvenience that the works could cause and we do so again publicly”.
