The Titerroy Neighborhood Association suspends the crafts workshop due to the lack of subsidy promised by the City Council

The Titerroy Neighborhood Association has reported that it has had to suspend the neighborhood's crafts workshop because the Arrecife City Council "owes subsidies since January." According to what they explained through a statement, the workshop's instructor met on Tuesday with this association and told them that he had not been paid since January, which endangered the development of this activity.

The neighborhood association does not understand why the capital's City Council "accepts the projects and then cannot face the subsidy payments." "Why does the City Council ask for so much documentation for the workshops if it then does not fulfill what was promised?", they ask themselves.

According to the residents of Titerroy, "it is not the first time" that this situation has occurred, which is affecting the elderly in the neighborhood who enjoyed these crafts workshops. "They are very upset," they warn. The residents denounce that the Council "spends the money on other things and does not attend to the residents of the neighborhood."

Likewise, they remember that said activity was put into operation because the City Council promised to pay the workshop's instructor quarterly. "The Council has laughed at the residents of Titerroy both with the non-payments of the workshops, as well as with the San José Obrero patron saint festivities," they criticize.

The neighborhood association also warns that next week the folklore workshop, which has been running for eleven years, may have to be stopped.
