The Tinajo Renewal Movement denounces Jesús Machín's "lies and negligence" regarding the garbage contract

The Tinajo Renovation Movement has denounced "the lies, secrecy and negligence of Jesús Machín" with the municipality's garbage contract, "which expired more than five months ago without the specifications having been drawn up yet to call the new tender".

In a statement, the formation reiterates that "the problems with the service are constant" and that "the waste accumulates in the containers, without the mayor having given explanations".

"We have been enduring this situation continuously since the summer and this week it has happened again. The garbage has not been collected since Sunday and this Thursday only a part was collected, but more than half of the municipality is still uncollected," says the president and councilor of the party, Antonio Morales. In addition, the councilman accuses the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, of "hiding the reality of what is happening with lies".

Specifically, the councilman of the Tinajo Renovation Movement refers to a statement released this Thursday by the City Council through its Facebook page, in which it was assured that "due to technical problems with the truck that collects garbage", the service was not provided on Wednesday. "It's a lie," warns Antonio Morales, who insists that the garbage had not been collected since Sunday, as had also happened in previous weeks.

In addition, although the City Council's statement assured that a "quick solution" had been "sought" and that since Thursday they were already "working normally", the Tinajo Renovation Movement states that "the truth is that many containers were still overflowing at the end of that day". "The mayor has hidden and has not told the truth about this matter and about why a service is not being provided in conditions," Morales emphasizes.

"There is no excuse for neglecting their obligations in this way"

In this regard, the councilman states that he already asked for explanations in the Plenary and that the mayor's response was that the contract with the awarded company expired in August, that they had made a contract for them to continue providing the service until the new tender came out and that "the company was doing a favor".

"It is a manifest negligence of the mayor, because he had to have foreseen that the contract with the company that had the award was ending and prepare the specifications in time and put the service out to tender. Why wasn't it done?" asks the councilman of the Tinajo Renovation Movement, who recalls that "the neighbors religiously pay taxes for the services to be provided".

In addition, he emphasizes that the mayor has been in office for 18 years, so he considers that "there is no excuse for neglecting their obligations in this way, letting a contract expire without having called a new tender". "According to him, they have been working on the specifications for months," says Antonio Morales, who points out that the last explanation they received is that the specifications would be ready in October, but that it has been four months since then and the tender has not yet been called.

Similarly, the councilman demands that it be clarified under what conditions the contract with the company was extended. "They say they made another contract, who knows how, and now we are suffering the consequences," criticizes Morales, who points out that this is added to "the silence of the mayor, who has not come out to explain the reason for the problems that are occurring in the garbage collection or to apologize".

"The only thing they have done is publish a statement on Facebook late and with lies," insists Antonio Morales, who demands that Jesús Machín explain "why he did not release the specifications before, how that new contract was made and why the service is not being provided as it should be".
