The Teguise Council approved this Monday the ordinance that regulates the uses of the municipality's beaches . This regulation defines, among other things, the number of hammocks and the sections where they are located, the maritime corridors for the entry and exit of nautical elements, the exclusive bathing areas, the preferred areas for surf schools or the space destined for kite practice, among other aspects. La Voz already echoed the gestation of this [new regulation->60660] a few months ago.
The Councilor for Beaches, Eugenio Robayna, pointed out that in "the statement of reasons it is literally stated that after almost 20 years since the approval of the municipal ordinance on beaches, which only regulated the beaches of Costa Teguise, the situation has changed significantly in the municipality, being absolutely necessary to carry out a new regulation of the matter that also includes other beaches in the municipality that have undergone significant changes, as is the case of Famara".
The mayor indicated that the regulations "try to improve the conditions in which these activities are carried out as well as influence the quality that should preside over them".
Among other issues, the plenary also ratified the collaboration agreement between the Teguise City Council and the IDEO Canarian Youth Foundation for the realization of professional practices of the working students of the Lanzarote Sostenible Workshop School. to develop the Workshop School project 'Sustainable rural and urban landscape. Sustainable Lanzarote', as well as the proposal to ask the Cabildo to install lighting in the roundabouts located on the Tahíche-Arrecife road or the collaboration agreement with the Association "Estación Náutica Lanzarote Norte".
