A day before the deadline for submitting allegations to the General Plan of Teguise closes, the socialist councilor of the City Council, Noelia Umpiérrez, has registered this Friday the allegations to the document, which is exposed in the Plan Information Office, and through which nearly 1,500 people have already passed. The Socialist Party criticizes the document for being an "interested" arrangement and denounces the "lack of land planning for social use".
According to the socialist councilor, the first claim is based on the conviction that it is a General Plan, which "is a true reflection of the Subsidiary Rules, which precede it in which the urban land has a first and last name": In her opinion, the changes in land use correspond to relatives, companies of officials or public officials. "This reality has generated 349 allegations that have not been taken into account," she says.
She also highlights the lack of synthesis in compliance with the Canary Islands Housing Law, "especially with regard to publicly promoted housing," explains Noelia Umpiérrez, who assures that there is a lack of knowledge of the customs and social changes of Teguise, "which requires better communications with the rest of the island, perfectly equipped locations and the creation of land reserves for housing".
Finally, the socialists consider "unacceptable the lack of land planning for social use", such as residences for the elderly, in the face of which they argue that "the special distribution of this population in so many districts and even on another island requires careful and sensitive management to facilitate access to cultural, health, sports and educational facilities and services for all residents".
