The Social Water Board prepares the demonstration against the Feasibility Plan of Inalsa

The Social Table for Water, made up of the Inalsa works council, unions, associations, political groups and the town councils of Haría and Tinajo, has opened different fronts to try to prevent the Viability Plan of the public water company from going ahead. This Monday, the members of the table will decide the day, time and place of the demonstration that they had already announced against the controversial plan. The working group has also resorted to other ways to achieve its objective and through the citizen initiative they have begun to present in the town councils of the island a motion that urges municipal leaders to ask the Cabildo to stop or revoke the viability plan, as they have registered in the Arrecife City Council.

After requesting an extraordinary meeting of the Biosphere Reserve Council to address this issue, those responsible for the works council continue to collect signatures among the inhabitants of the island. For the spokesperson of the Table, David Luna, "people are responding very well and give us their support. You can tell that there is a concern on the part of the citizens regarding this plan that entails many risks and people understand our position very well," Luna assures

Luna assures that despite the fact that several political forces are registered within this new body, "the table is not a politicized body", the works council is not afraid that they may be identified with the parties given that it is a body open to any citizen of the island and because according to himself "the political representatives of the table have supported the works council taking the lead, they have let us act". In addition, he explains that "in common we want a public company, there are those who want to see that this is politicized but it is not like that, the works council is the one that is carrying out this initiative and this is open to all citizens"

David Luna, who was disciplined by Inalsa, has presented allegations to the company's management, as has the works council. Both await a pronouncement from it regarding the submitted writings.
