New vehicle presentation in La Graciosa

The Security and Emergency Consortium presented this Monday morning a new 4x4 vehicle that will cover the emergency needs in La Graciosa.

The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, Oswaldo Betancort, together with the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, the mayor of Teguise, Olivia Duque, and other municipal and island representatives, traveled to the eighth island to learn about the characteristics of this new vehicle.

"We are fulfilling a commitment to the residents of La Graciosa, providing the island with a vehicle to preserve security in the face of any incident that may occur throughout the island," said Betancort, who thanked the Teguise City Council and the Security and Emergency Consortium for their willingness to acquire this new vehicle.

The president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, stressed that this new vehicle "complements the fire service that exists on the eighth island." "It must be remembered that the firefighters are on the island 365 days a year, with land and water equipment, and I am sure that in the coming months we will add another vehicle to further guarantee security on the island," he revealed.

On the other hand, the mayor of Teguise thanked the Security Consortium for the acquisition of this new vehicle. "All means are insufficient for an isolated island like La Graciosa, and we will continue working hand in hand with the Cabildo and the SUC to also expand the health service," she added.

This new vehicle has been acquired by the Security and Emergency Consortium through a subsidy granted by the Island Council of Lanzarote, after a bidding process that awarded the company Transtel S.L. for an amount of "55,553.10 euros" for the award of this vehicle.

Specifically, it is a Toyota Hilux Double Cabin, which has all the technical and technological elements necessary for the correct execution of the work of the firefighters of Lanzarote and La Graciosa.
