The president of the Lanzarote Security and Emergency Consortium, Marcos Bergaz, together with the councilor of La Graciosa, Alicia Paéz, has reviewed this Monday the replacement of the "eleven rescue and emergency posts in different points of the coast of the island of La Graciosa".
From the Cabildo they point out that these are posts that periodically suffer losses due to their use or the action of the “friends of others”, which require constant replacement, having rehabilitated the rings, informative plaques, lifelines and supports.
Bergaz recalls “to take extreme precautions, because on land and sea preventing is curing, but if necessary these elements are essential to save lives on the coasts of Lanzarote and La Graciosa”. In addition, the councilor adds that “if any incident occurs, you should call 1-1-2 and follow the instructions at all times of the authorities in matters of emergency, security and surveillance”.
In addition, the Consortium delivered a kit of material to meet the humanitarian needs of first urgency in the event of the possible arrival of a boat or pater to the eighth island. Among the material provided are masks, gloves, PPE equipment and thermal blankets.
For her part, the councilor Alicia Páez thanked “the work that the Consortium, formed by the Cabildo and the seven town halls, develops so that Lanzarote and La Graciosa remain a safe place”.
