The Security and Emergency Consortium approves its budget for more than 6 million euros

The figure represents an investment of 30,000 euros more compared to the previous year's accounts.

The plenary hall of the Cabildo of Lanzarote hosted the approval by the plenary of the Security and Emergency Consortium of the budget for the year 2023, which increases to 6,295,283 euros. A figure that represents an investment of 130,000 euros more compared to the previous year's accounts.

In the section of income, "these come mainly from the contributions made by the consortium entities, highlighting the 3,259,990.50 euros from the Cabildo of Lanzarote, the 2,048,289.56 euros from the seven City Councils of Lanzarote and the 470,921 euros from the Autonomous Community; for total contributions of 5,779,201.06 euros, completing the income through other sources such as fees for the provision of services and contributions from insurers", they emphasize from the Cabildo.

Regarding expenses, the consortium points out that "3,300,423.62 euros stand out for the personnel chapter, 2,348,240.17 euros in operating expenses, and 576,619.21 euros for investments that are complemented by various nominated subsidies from the Cabildo of this and previous years for their materialization in the acquisition of new fleet, expansion of infrastructure and improvements to existing fire stations."

The president of the Consortium, Marcos Bergaz, accompanied by the Manager of the Entity Enrique Espinosa, highlighted "the unanimous support of the plenary to the presented accounts, with the vote in favor of the representatives of the seven city councils, the Government of the Canary Islands and the Cabildo itself."

"These are balanced accounts in income and expenses, which will allow us to continue developing the more than a thousand services that on average we have per year for and for the security of Lanzarote and La Graciosa", continues Bergaz.

"Again, the Consortium approves the accounts in a timely manner, without any debt incurred by the entity, and it is appropriate to thank all the technical and administrative staff for their diligence in preparing the annual budgets that see the light today", concludes Marcos Bergaz.
