The San Bartolomé City Council initially approves the General Urban Planning Plan

Isidro Pérez highlights that it is "an adaptation to the needs of the current municipal planning, providing solutions to urban problems"

Meeting for the approval of the General Plan of San Bartolomé

The mayor of San Bartolomé, Isidro Pérez, announced this Thursday the initial approval of the Supplementary General Plan of the municipality (PGOS), after a meeting with the Single Report Commission of the Department of Territorial Planning of the Government of the Canary Islands.

Isidro Pérez wanted to highlight that this approval implies "an adaptation to the needs of the current municipal planning, adapting to the existing reality within the legal framework, providing solutions to urban problems raised in the NNSS of 1996".

The municipal leader commented that this Plan has undergone an "extensive process of citizen participation" with neighborhood meetings in which the document was presented, seeking the maximum possible consensus. It should be remembered that this plan had already been announced several months ago, after the meeting held in San Bartolomé with the regional deputy minister Leopoldo Díaz, and the drafting team formed by Gesplan.

He also wanted to thank "the great work" done by the council, directed by José Antonio Valbuena, as well as the regional deputy minister of Territorial Planning and Water, Leopoldo Díaz, the drafting and technical team, and the technical office of the San Bartolomé City Council, "all putting a great effort and dedication to carry out this PGOS".

For her part, the Councilor for Urban Planning of the Consortium, Marlene Romero, added that "a rigorous work has been carried out, which has had several monitoring commissions to agree on this document between the Government of the Canary Islands and the City Council of San Bartolomé", also highlighting that, after this initial approval, "it will be exposed to the public for two months, being able to present allegations, the consultation process will proceed to the affected public administrations, as well as the mandatory report procedure in the sectoral legislation".
