The residents of Masdache celebrate their festivities in honor of La Magdalena from July 15 to July 22. This year they will enjoy workshops, dances, a foam party, storytelling, theater, and the popular pilgrimage with offerings to the Virgin, which will take place on Saturday, July 16 at 6:00 p.m.
The celebration began this Tuesday with the envite championship and will continue with the lottery game, scheduled for Friday the 15th. On Saturday at 12:00 p.m. there will be a first aid workshop and an exhibition of material and vehicles by the Volunteer Firefighters of Lanzarote Boluntis, and it will continue with the pilgrimage. The day will end with a dance by the Raíces and El Jable parrandas.
For Sunday the 17th at 12:00 p.m., a foam party with an inflatable has been scheduled, enlivened by the duo Los Conejeros. That same day at 6:30 p.m. there will be a family circus-theater show by the Comedia DeSastre company, which will perform "The Last Train."
"Al Soslayo de Ona y Piocho" is the storytelling that Maraba Hernández will perform on Monday, July 18, at 6:00 p.m., while a chinchón championship will be held at 8:00 p.m.
Tuesday, Wednesday, and Thursday there will be children's workshops at 5:00 p.m. In addition, on the same day there will be a mixed round championship at 8:00 p.m., and on Wednesday at 7:00 p.m. there will be a dessert, liqueur, and tortilla contest. For Thursday, a xxl rosette workshop is also planned starting at 4:00 p.m. and the performance of the play "Nobody is Perfect" by the Teatreros y Comediantes group at 8:00 p.m.
The big day of the festivities will be Friday, July 22, with the function and procession at 6:00 p.m., accompanied by the Unión Musical de Lanzarote band, and the subsequent performance of the Güerma folk group. At 8:00 p.m. the VII Masdache Song Festival will be held, followed by fireworks and a party enlivened by DJ Ángel Pérez and the Arena de Gran Canaria group.
