Socialist councilor in the Teguise City Council, Sabina Vizcaíno, recalled this Wednesday in a press release that the Special Plan of the Historic Site of La Villa should have been approved, at least initially, within 18 months after the declaration of the historical site dating from 1980.

Therefore, the PSOE has proposed to the Teguise plenary to correct this "historical delay" in the processing and approve said Plan.

"With a Special Plan, greater legal certainty and agility would be achieved for the actions intended to be carried out in the mansions, buildings and spaces of this architectural jewel, and it would also help the protection, dissemination and revitalization of the fantastic historical site that houses the old island capital," says the councilor.

"For this reason, we convey to the highest body of the Corporation, the plenary, the need to set a calendar or schedule with timed deadlines for the processing of this fundamental instrument," says Sabina Vizcaíno.

Similarly, the socialist states that "the pending tasks in terms of planning in Teguise not only reach the Special Plan, but also the revision - which is already due - of the General Plan or the elaboration of an essential third Modernization Plan of Costa Teguise, all issues of municipal competence."

"We are in the first year of the term and it is up to us to make important decisions - asserts Sabina Vizcaíno -, hence our demand to the government of CC (Canarian Coalition), Popular Party (PP) and Vox, because time is pressing and there is not much drive from the municipal executive in these more than 180 days that they have been in charge of the City Council."

Finally, from the ranks of the Socialist Team of Teguise they hope that for once "they let themselves be helped, because whether it is for the Christmas spirit or our constructive opposition, we do not want more coal to their management but that they support the proposal and comply with this pending duty after 14 years of government presided over by the Canarian Coalition, now escorted with its partners PP and Vox," concludes the councilor.
