It denounces that the government group has allocated "to the paving of several streets" a subsidy of 350,000 euros that the Cabildo granted for the green areas

The PSOE in Teguise, through its spokesperson Marcos Bergaz, has denounced the "negligence" of the CC government group to improve the state of the green areas and gardens of Costa Teguise, "despite having a subsidy for it and the succession of complaints about its poor conservation during the last years".

In a statement, the socialists state that "the City Council had a subsidy since 2017 from the Cabildo of Lanzarote for an amount of 350,000 euros to improve its image and state, a permanent demand of the citizens and representatives of the municipal tourist center that, due to the negligence of the mayor, will continue to be forgotten".

Some resources that, in the opinion of the PSOE, "should have already been used in actions such as the maintenance of the palm grove, the repopulation of different areas with new species, the removal of mixed gravel or the improvement of drip irrigation, and that however it has been preferred to opt for asphalting", they point out.

“The only language that the Coalición Canaria group of Teguise seems to know is to delay necessary actions to qualify the public space such as the garden areas and green spaces of the main tourist and population center of the Municipality”, says Bergaz. “They had 350,000 euros that after three years they have not been able to execute. A fact that coincides with a new delay in the contract that must ensure the maintenance of the green areas of the municipality”, adds the PSOE spokesperson in Teguise.

"Citizens deserve a government that acts rigorously"

In the opinion of the socialists of Teguise "the City Council shows another last-minute improvisation modifying the improvement of some gardens that are crying out for water by paving several streets." "On the way to half a decade with an absolute majority, the citizens and visitors of Costa Teguise deserve a government that acts rigorously to respond to excellence in terms of image and maintenance of public spaces and gardens," he adds.

Finally, from the PSOE of Teguise they affirm to bet "for the qualification of the municipal projects, having as main maxim the well-being of its citizens". "And that involves dignifying the common areas and gardens of Costa Teguise, which unfortunately are not a priority for the mayor and his government group," they conclude.
