The PSOE regrets that CC of Teguise "has not given a single aid to the self-employed or SMEs"

Marcos Bergaz: “A year after the pandemic, not a single one of the aid promised by Covid has been given”

The PSOE of Teguise regrets the “coal” of the Canary Coalition Government to the business fabric of the municipality, since “a year after the pandemic, not a single one of the aid promised by Covid has been given”, says the socialist spokesman Marcos Bergaz.

"Despite the repeated press releases, despite concluding 2022, despite their criticisms of other administrations that paid them a long time ago, and as if it were easy to be self-employed or a small business, the truth is that in Teguise we are still waiting”, they maintain from the PSOE.

"The worst thing is that the delay will continue, since if the aid has not been paid before the end of the year, a new budget item will have to be enabled, depending on the new budgets of the corporation - which have not been initially approved -, or the incorporation of the remainders”, Bergaz points out.

“But what does it matter, a Government that has taken more than two years to articulate and grant aid that will arrive too late for local businesses must think, if it arrives, because at this rate the mandate ends and nothing”, says the socialist councilor.

From the socialist ranks it is also pointed out “the confusion generated by the Teguise Government itself, which through the mayor dictates a decree on December 28, giving a deadline until December 30, 2022 at 1:00 p.m. for those interested to correct the applications - under a categorical ‘the deadline is reduced due to the fact that we are at the end of the year and so that the entities can receive said subsidy’ -, to two days later issue another decree granting a period of 20 business days for the same purpose”, Bergaz points out.

To conclude, the socialist group urges “to resolve the call once and for all, even more so, when the mayor as a parliamentarian asks in Tenerife for aid for all groups and sectors, and in the municipality he presides over he has been unable to give it yet".
