The PSOE of Arrecife has proposed in this plenary session that the Titerroy sports hall be renamed Titerroy "Águeda Batista Cedrés" Sports Hall, in recognition "of the enormous and exemplary sporting career of a great person".

They also point out that this change of name would make the Titerroy "Águeda Batista Cedrés" Sports Hall the first sports infrastructure building on the island "with the name of a female athlete from Lanzarote". "We sincerely believe that Águeda has an incredible career and deserves this recognition," says the PSOE spokesperson in Arrecife, Cristina Duque.

The PSOE points out that in the field of Arrecife sports there are also many examples that have existed for years and in a consensual manner, such as the "José Díaz Contreras" Municipal Football Field, "Agapito Reyes Viera" Municipal Football Field, "Estrella Machín" Municipal Sports Court, "Puerto Del Arrecife" Municipal Sports Park, etc.

The proposal will be taken to the Arrecife plenary session this Friday, where it will be debated. “We are very excited about this proposal as Batista deserves recognition from the island's sport for an impeccable career”, comments Duque.
