The PSOE of Tinajo has presented a proposal for the creation of a new Municipal Funeral Home, which responds to current needs and offers a dignified and respectful space for grieving families.
“The Tinajo Municipal Funeral Home is a fundamental space for our town, a place where sadness emerges, where tears mix with memories and hugs intertwine with the pain of farewells,” said Begoña Hernández, PSOE councilor in Tinajo. However, the socialist spokesperson points out, “the current state of these facilities does not reflect the dignity that our loved ones deserve nor the compassion that we all long for in moments of loss.”
“Over the years, this funeral home has witnessed countless farewells, but it has become obsolete, presenting deficiencies that have become evident in recent wakes. Among the main flaws detected are broken pipes and insufficient maintenance, problems that have affected both grieving families and the respect due to the deceased,” she added.
Participatory process
In addition, the PSOE highlights that the current location of the funeral home, located in the same square where the patron saint festivities are held, generates an uncomfortable situation for grieving families, due to the noise and nearby festive activities, which interfere with the atmosphere of respect and contemplation expected in a wake venue.
“It is time to change this reality. As public representatives, we have the commitment and the duty to find a new location for the funeral home, which is a space where respect and empathy are breathed,” Hernández emphasizes.
“The PSOE proposes the construction of a modern, accessible and functional funeral home, which complies with current regulations and standards in funeral matters, ensuring a dignified and respectful space for the deceased and their families. In addition, the opportunity can be used to carry out a participatory process to choose a new location in consensus with the residents of Tinajo,” she concludes.
