The PSOE of Tinajo has demanded this Monday the immediate creation of a Public Children's School in the municipality, after confirming the closure, on August 31, of the only existing children's education center in the municipality, of a private nature.
"The center has been forced to close without the City Council offering any alternative, leaving them in a situation of total helplessness and without resources to reconcile family and work life," they denounce from the party.
The socialist spokesperson in the Tinajo City Council, Begoña Hernández, has been blunt in pointing out the mayor: “Jesús Machín has abandoned the families of Tinajo. We are talking about an essential resource for mothers and fathers to reconcile, and for the little ones to access quality early education. They knew it for months and have done nothing”.
Hernández recalls that already in 2019, the PSOE of Tinajo demanded that the nationalist government group launch a public children's school. “Five years later, not only have they not made any progress, but now we are left without any option”, lamented Hernández.
“While all the municipalities of Lanzarote have opted for public resources for children's education, Tinajo continues to be the only one that does not have this service. It is a disgrace and another example of the neglect of this government group”, she added.
The socialists warn that "from September many families from Tinajo and nearby municipalities will be forced to move due to the impossibility of reconciling family and work life because the municipality of Tinajo does not offer an essential resource”.
For this reason, they demand that the mayor "act immediately and begin the procedures for launching a Public Children's School in the municipality." “It is not a question of will, it is a question of rights. Tinajo cannot continue to be at the bottom of essential public services. Machín must stop thinking about headlines and start governing for the people”, concluded Hernández.
In addition, they announce that in the next ordinary plenary session the PSOE of Tinajo will present a motion again to demand the creation of a Public Children's School in the municipality.
