The PSOE in Arrecife denounces that the mayor, Yonathan de León, lost 250,000 in a subsidy for the improvement of the capital's City Hall.
The socialists point out that "since the mayor did nothing, it generated late payment interest (rather they should be called incompetence) of 5,776.40 euros, which the City Hall will have to pay separately." "These amounts total a staggering 246,262.53 euros, a scandalous figure for a man who only spends money on parties and divides contracts."
In a statement, the capital's PSOE explains that "this latest subsidy was part of the framework of the Recovery, Transformation and Resilience Plan, within the project to improve the security, confidentiality and accessibility of the administration's data." “It is also true that this mayor is not interested in improving the City Hall, nor in accessing information about his continuous disasters in daily management,” says Cristina Duque.
Almost half a million euros lost in subsidies
"To this subsidy we must add the other two subsidies lost in the past that total another 200 thousand euros wasted, exceeding 450 thousand euros, a regrettable record of a management disaster," adds the councilor. “Since this man has been mayor, public money has been flying out of the town hall, in that explosive cocktail of parties and incompetence,” comments Duque.
For Cristina Duque, "the contempt for hundreds of thousands of euros only has one explanation; these subsidies were intended either for merchants, or for families, or for the improvement of the administration, something that Yonathan de León cares less than nothing about. If he could have taken a photo with his colleague Jacobo Medina or they had been subsidies for parties, he would have worried a little more,” concludes Duque.
