The Socialist Party (PSOE) of Teguise denounces this Tuesday in a press release the need to repair "once and for all" the state of various public spaces in Costa Teguise as a result of the torrential rains that took place on April 12.

It should be remembered that then numerous residents suffered floods in their homes, while the business sector, from small businesses to hotel establishments, also faced the consequences of torrential rains that also affected public spaces, especially in Costa Teguise and Tahíche.

"Months later, unfortunately, the mark of those torrential rains still remains in different points, mainly in the town of Costa Teguise, which have not been restored to normality," they say.

"This is notoriously the case at the entrance to Costa Teguise on Avenida del Campo de Golf, whose sides retain the "wounds" of the floods; but also in different "bare" green areas waiting for a minimum of attention; or at the mouth of the Hurón ravine in Las Cucharas where not even the railings have been replaced more than a hundred days later, as evidenced by the fences still placed in this central and busy area of Costa," the socialists point out.

From the Socialist Group, the deputy spokesperson Jenifer Galán recalls that, "the political group that I represent, first expressed solidarity with all those affected, then we proposed a battery of measures to hinder new floods, which were rejected by the government of Coalición Canaria (CC), Partido Popular (PP) and the former councilor of VOX".

"Even, -continues the councilor- we proposed to enable a specific economic item in the budgets of Teguise to rehabilitate and undertake improvements in the most punished points, a proposal that also had the vote against the municipal government. Now, after a more than prudent period, and in the middle of the high season in Costa Teguise, we demand to rehabilitate the forgotten points that remain deteriorated after the rains of last 12A, because they have had time".

To conclude, Galán highlights that "there is no room for forgetting what happened, nor inaction in the face of the state of these public spaces in which the mark of the torrential rains of the distant month of April still remains, hence our initiatives and this public complaint to correct it once and for all."
