The PSOE criticizes the Teguise government for "renouncing employment aid funds"

The PSOE of Teguise criticizes the Teguise government of the Canarian Coalition for "not presenting any project to the call for the Training Program in Alternation with Employment - PFAE - of the Canarian Employment Service".

This assessment is made by the socialists after, this Tuesday, December 13, the final resolution of the approved projects charged to this program has been published, financed with 44,993,915.40 euros, "without Teguise appearing among the entities that presented any project, despite currently having 1,043 unemployed people, unfortunately being one of the few municipalities in Lanzarote that has increased the number of unemployed in this month of November", says the PSOE spokesperson, Marcos Bergaz.

"The most serious thing is that the Teguise government refuses to participate in this type of program that bets on the training and employment of people with special difficulties in accessing the labor market, such as the long-term unemployed, job seekers over 45 years of age, young people or people with recognized disabilities equal to or greater than 33%", laments the socialist councilor.

The call of the Canarian Employment Service finances each selected project with 321,374.29 euros and has a duration of eleven and a half months in which training is combined with paid work, which allows the hiring of 15 students, in addition to management and teaching staff in charge of the development of each of the projects.

For the socialists, "while municipalities such as Tías or San Bartolomé have been awarded 6 and 3 projects respectively, Teguise refuses to obtain financing and develop this type of projects that generate job opportunities. All this, despite the fact that a year ago we presented an initiative for it to compete in future calls, which was rejected by the government presided over by the still mayor Oswaldo Betancort", confirms Bergaz.

"We are facing another example of the loss of leadership of Teguise, with a government that renounces quality training and employment programs, that does not aspire to important economic resources from other administrations, and that systematically adopts the victimistic pose when it voluntarily decides not to present itself to public calls such as this case", adds the socialist leader.

To finish, the PSOE of Teguise congratulates "with healthy envy Tías, San Bartolomé and the Cabildo of Lanzarote itself, for being able to develop employment projects charged to the PFAE, in areas such as new technologies, the protection of renewable energies, the care of people, etc. And we say healthy envy, because Teguise, due to the reluctance of its government, will not execute any", concludes Marcos Bergaz.
