The socialist group of Teguise has shown its concern about the progress of the construction works of the soccer field and adjoining facilities of Costa Teguise, "which have been paralyzed for weeks, after the last months have gone at a snail's pace."
“Since the month of September, the works have been minor and slow, as a harbinger of what has finally happened: the suspension of the works,” said the PSOE spokesman in the Teguise City Council, Marcos Bergaz.
“Definitely, once again there has been no luck, and the construction sign itself tells us about an intervention that should already be at the service of all the soccer players of U.D. Palmeiros and the rest of the athletes and citizens of Costa Teguise and the municipality, as they began in 2019 with an execution period of twelve months. We are in 2021 and there is still much to be done,” added the socialist.
“Hopefully we are wrong, but we fear that these facilities will not be ready for the next season, when now precisely, due to the capacity to generate economy of public works, it should be used to promote each and every one of the works,” laments Marcos Bergaz.
The socialist group affirms that, after having made several visits, it has been able to verify that there has been no movement in the work since last December: “We have been without any sign of activity for weeks and the City Council has not offered any explanation”, argues Marcos Bergaz, who considers it "essential to inform public opinion."
"For good news they do not take a minute to send a press release and dozens of photos, but when a work is suspended or twisted, the silence is most dense in the way this municipal government governs, which is why in the next plenary session we will ask about the resumption of the works and the times that are handled for its completion", concludes the socialist
