After the elections of May 28, the PSOE of Teguise, as the majority party in the municipality, begins its term with "new initiatives." A series of proposals to finally launch the new gardening service, enable a channel for complaints and citizen participation, as well as for the Corporation's plenary sessions to take place in the different towns and localities of the municipality,” says councilor Jenifer Galán.
For the socialist group, “it is urgent to contract once and for all the new municipal gardens and green areas service after a decade of progressive deterioration with Coalición Canaria”, - emphasizes Galán -, “even more so, when the current service has been provided for two years by the awarded company in an "obliged" manner, given the expiration of the contract and the inability of the nationalist government to launch a new, ambitious one that reaches all the towns and localities of Teguise."
"Unfortunately, an issue that should have been resolved a long time ago continues to be one of the pending issues, despite the fact that during the previous term we presented countless initiatives to the then single-color government of CC,” the councilor points out.
"Continuing with our constructive and firm opposition, we are once again proposing solutions, now before the minority government of CC and PP: hopefully for the good of the municipality they will let themselves be helped on this occasion," confirms the councilor.
Citizen participation
Similarly, they propose to the plenary session to “enable a channel for residents to submit complaints and reports on pending issues in the municipality to the City Council, a channel that could well be the recovery of the green line or any other application,” says Galán.
“It must be remembered that months ago the CC government deactivated the green line, which allowed citizens to report the state of streetlights, the existence of potholes in some streets, cleaning problems or whatever was needed, we intend to enable a similar channel, so that citizens can participate in the state of their municipality in a comfortable and agile way,” she points out.
To conclude, the socialists from Teguise propose that “the plenary sessions take place in all the localities of the municipality, thus bringing politics closer to the citizens, which we will propose this Wednesday in the plenary session that will take place at 8.30 am in the Convent of Santo Domingo”.
