The PSOE accuses the Tías government of not acting against the plagues of insects and rats in Puerto del Carmen

The Socialist Party has accused this Wednesday the government group of Tías of "neglecting" the "proliferation of rats and insects in Puerto del Carmen", after seeing rejected in the Plenary its motion to put out to tender the rat extermination and disinsection service for the municipality. "The Popular Party and the Canarian Coalition choose not to attend to the complaints of residents and businessmen of Puerto del Carmen", they have criticized from the PSOE.

In the opinion of the socialists, "the rejection of PP and CC, despite the numerous complaints made public by businessmen, residents and users of the tourist area of Puerto del Carmen, comes to demonstrate the disinterest of this government group for the problems that really affect the citizens, and speaks very clearly of how in reality they are only interested in media attention and political gain for their own benefit". In addition, the spokesman of the Socialist Group in Tías, César Reyes, recalls that this rat extermination and disinsection service "was already deserted last summer, despite the fact that the socialists also demanded it before the summer".

In a statement, the socialist municipal group warns of the reappearance of "plagues of insects and rodents" in the tourist and residential area of Puerto del Carmen and therefore proposed to the Plenary that the government group "urgently rework the specifications to tender as soon as possible this necessary service". "The refusal of the Government group demonstrates that our current rulers are only there for the photo, not to solve the problems in the municipality", Reyes denounces.

To this, he adds that "nor is this the only public tender that the government group of Pancho Hernández leaves deserted and paralyzed". Thus, he has referred to the situation of the "long-awaited municipal swimming pool of Tías", questioning the "null management" of the government group because "the date of final award remains a mystery after several failed attempts".

The mayor "lifts and ignores 18 of the 19 objections of the Intervention Department"

On the other hand, the socialists have also criticized that in the same Plenary held on Tuesday afternoon, the mayor lifted 18 of the 19 objections with which the municipal auditor "advised against the execution of various payments".

In this sense, César Reyes criticizes that "this is not a new practice of the mayor, Pancho Hernández, in this legislature and the previous one, since this same Government group, formed by PP and CC, already lifted about 20 objections from the Intervention department last year, when a total of 23 reports of objection were formulated against the management of the Government of Tías".
