The president of the Cabildo of Lanzarote, M.ª Dolores Corujo, presided over the act of recognition of the official Bienvenido Cáceres Reyes who, after thirty years of service in the Fire Department, is leaving his position to retire.
The event, which was held this Friday in the Plenary Hall of the Corporation, was also attended by the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium of Lanzarote, Francisco J. Aparicio; the manager of the entity, Enrique Espinosa and several relatives of the firefighter Bienvenido Cáceres, who received a plaque of recognition for his excellent work during so many years at the service of Lanzarote and its citizens.
The president thanked "Bienvenido's professionalism, always willing to collaborate, who has dedicated his working life to protecting the lives of others", while wishing him, on behalf of the entire Corporation, "the best in this new stage that is now beginning." The official Bienvenido Cáceres Reyes, belongs to the 1st Promotion of the Fire Department of Lanzarote, whose staff had, in its beginnings, only twelve members.
After three decades of service, among the interventions that have marked Cáceres' professional career, the participation in the work of extinguishing the fire of the Gran Hotel in Arrecife that occurred in 1993, as well as the intervention during the tropical storm Delta that hit the island in 2005, stand out.
It should be noted that Bienvenido Cáceres received in 2016 a recognition for his 25 years of service and on March 8, 2019, on the occasion of the feast of the Patron Saint of Firefighters, he was also presented with a medal in recognition of his work in the Consortium.
Both the president of the Security and Emergency Consortium, Francisco J. Aparicio, and the head of the Fire Department, wanted to highlight "the companionship, professionalism and willingness of Bienvenido Cáceres when it comes to assisting and collaborating in the face of any need, both at the operational level and in the resolution of incidents in the day to day of the service"
