The PP regrets the "lack of ambition of CC" for not demanding a nursing home for Arrecife

The Popular Party has lamented "the lack of ambition of CC in Arrecife to demand infrastructures that are necessary and urgent such as the Arrecife nursing home and that it seems that they will not see the light in the short term." The party's deputy spokesperson, Jacobo Medina, has stated that "it is a pity that he is not up to the task or has sufficient capacity to demand from the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, from CC, of the same political color, that the nursing home be one of the projects benefiting from the IGTE funds".

The statements of the populars come a few days after the President of the Government of the Canary Islands, Fernando Clavijo, visited Lanzarote and promised investments for the high-demand nursing home in Teguise and the Conference Center. Likewise, the formation has indicated that "it is surprising how CC and PSOE have not been able to recover the project of the Cruz Blanca residence to this day; a half-finished concrete skeleton anchored in the middle of the Altavista neighborhood".

Medina has assured that "it is necessary and urgent for Arrecife to have a residence due to the number of inhabitants that the municipality houses, which already approaches 61,200 inhabitants." "Arrecife is positioned as the only capital of the Canary Islands that does not have a nursing home", Medina stressed. "We do not understand how the little weight of CC in Arrecife is making us lose vital infrastructures for our elders in Arrecife", the councilor reproached the nationalist formation.

"It's a shame that CC is not up to the task"

The populars have recalled that both for the 2017 Budgets and for the FDCAN funds, the Parliamentarian and councilor Astrid Pérez requested that the nursing home be taken into account, "but unfortunately both CC and PSOE voted against it".

The Popular Group has also pointed out that months ago it presented a motion for the City Council, Cabildo and Government of the Canary Islands to commit to completing the work on the Cruz Blanca residence and CC, PSOE and PIL voted against it. "There are many plenary sessions in which the Popular Party has requested financing for a work that is abandoned and that is causing serious damage to the residents of the area, since the fences that surround the work are on the ground and right next to a playground with the serious danger that this entails for minors", they pointed out from the party.

That is why the PP has asked "the parties that today govern in the Arrecife City Council, CC PSOE PIL, to leave their political entanglements and start working once and for all for the residents of Arrecife".
