The PP of Lanzarote shows its support for the cry of 'freedom and democracy' of the Venezuelan community

The island president, Astrid Pérez, appeals for “respect for the will for change” that Venezuelans expressed on July 28 and trusts that the international community will mobilize against the injustices that are being committed in Venezuela.

Concentration

The Popular Party of Lanzarote has joined this Saturday the concentration organized by the Venezuelan community on the island within the international call that has been carried out in cities around the world.

The island president of the PP, Astrid Pérez, led the presence of the Populars, among whom were also the general secretary and vice president of the Cabildo, Jacobo Medina, and the mayor of Arrecife, Yonathan de León, among other public and organic positions.

Astrid Pérez highlighted that “the Popular Party is once again positioned alongside the people of Venezuela in their fight for freedom and democracy” and “in defense of the popular will expressed overwhelmingly at the polls on July 28.”

The leader of the Lanzarote Populars valued the concentrations that took place in all corners of the country and the unanimous cry for change and freedom that the Venezuelan community launched to the world against the repressive regime of Nicolás Maduro. “It is important that Venezuelans feel that they are not alone and that the historical ties we maintain with Venezuela are strengthened even more if possible at this time,” said Astrid Pérez, who expressed the need for the international community to position itself loudly and clearly against the injustice that is occurring in Venezuela by the regime of Nicolás Maduro.”  “These are very difficult times that our sister town is experiencing and we hope that this type of act will not only serve to promote the change of course that Venezuelans want and have voted for, but also so that they know that we are by their side throughout this process.”
