The Popular Party of Yaiza wanted to highlight the “mischievous and deceitful policy” of Oscar Noda's government when claiming from the Ministry of Education of the Government of the Canary Islands financing for shade areas in the courts of the schools of Playa Blanca and Yaiza "knowing that the executive is fulfilling the commitments acquired with the municipality."
In this sense, the municipal spokesperson for the PP, Juan Monzón, clarifies that a shade area has recently been installed in the CEIP of Playa Blanca on the sports court, while the CEIP of Yaiza already has the financing that has been transferred to it by the Ministry and is only pending the contracting of the company to execute the work. “The reality is that Education is complying with the established roadmap and that by omitting these actions, the only thing the mayor is pursuing is to confuse citizens and sow uncertainty in the educational community,” says Monzón.
The populars consider that "very important steps are being taken in the progressive installation of shade areas in the educational centers of the island, as part of the 'adaptation to heat' plan", “and not recognizing these advances is simply a way of diverting attention from the maintenance and improvement works, which are the responsibility of the City Council, and which are not being done.”
Juan Monzón assures that "this media distraction maneuver also seeks to cover up the inability of the municipal government that at this point in the year has not yet been able to hire an afternoon janitor for the CEIP of Playa Blanca, which is why the start of extracurricular sports activities has been delayed."
“What we ask of the mayor is that he does not use press releases for empty and misleading headlines, and that he get to work to solve the problems that are within his competence and that he is not assuming with due diligence,” the populars reproach.
