"From the Independent Party of Lanzarote, PIL, we show our total astonishment and shame to understand how the president of the Cabildo has been able during these two years of legislature to govern 'maliciously' with the sole object, motivation and goal, to obtain political benefits at our expense, without caring about the interests of our island and neighbors," the independents said in a press release.

However, they have been satisfied that, "finally, even if it is more than six months late, the president of the Cabildo has realized that the solutions that the PIL put on the table to save Inalsa, without the need to go to Bankruptcy, are the correct measures. What we regret is that she put the interests of her party before those of the company itself."

"Mrs. Manuela de Armas has come to confirm, in a press conference, that when we were government partners, she only dedicated herself to conspiring against the PIL, focusing her efforts on that, which is incredible for being the highest responsible for the island. Now we understand those letters addressed to Plácida Guerra. And then, she is amazed that a bad and disastrous management is attributed to her. Now she and her current government team in the Cabildo have unmasked themselves, really," they commented. And they added "the shame is enormous to see that the measures adopted are the same that began to be designed and worked on when the delegate councilor of the company was one of the areas assigned to the PIL, after the government agreement reached with the PSOE. The same ones that were included in the Inalsa Viability Plan, led by a delegate councilor who, at all times, kept the president informed, who, putting hundreds of obstacles, intended to delay its implementation as much as possible. Now, without moving a single eyelash or blushing with shame, revealing her strategy, the president of the Cabildo, with a minority government, blames the Independent Party for the management carried out in Inalsa, arguing that all the powers were held by the previous delegate councilor, Plácida Guerra," they stated in the press release.

Questions

The PIL has asked if "has the president of the Cabildo forgotten that the newspaper archives exist? And the multiple occasions in which both she and Mr. Espino publicly supported the Viability Plan designed, as they say, by the PIL?". "What is evident, once again, is that if a president is not capable of assuming the management of her government team for two years, she is not worthy of being at the head of the first institution, nor is she worthy of having the support of society," they explained.
