The "No to oil exploration" was also present at the Ironman 2012 celebration, where several banners could be seen along the route of the race, among other actions carried out.

Thanks to the collaboration of Club La Santa Sport, the Island Coordination Commission was able to inform triathletes and sports press of various nationalities of "the position and feeling of the population of the islands with respect to the oil explorations that the Spanish State intends to carry out in the Canary Islands, as well as the consequences and risks that they will entail for the ecosystem and protected natural environment of the archipelago".

This information, also translated into English, French and German by the groups themselves, was given to the athletes during the collection of bib numbers. The delivery to the international press was also facilitated by Club La Santa during the press conference held last Friday.

This elite sports complex in Lanzarote gave the Island Coordination Commission against Oil Exploration an exhibition space at the Fair held days before the Ironman, where athletes and journalists participating in the event gathered, as well as tourists and residents interested in this international sporting event.

Similarly, the Cabildo of Lanzarote would like to especially thank the groups, associations and members of the Commission for "the effort and extraordinary work and coordination" carried out during the development of the test, since "thanks to them, banners with the 'No to Oil Companies' were shown in the main sections and roads of the island through which the runners and cyclists passed".
