The president of the Island Council of Lanzarote, María Dolores Corujo, and the vice president, Jacobo Medina, have inaugurated the round of institutional visits in the municipality of Tinajo, governed by the Canarian Coalition, where they were received by the mayor, Jesús Machín.

In addition, the Cabildo announced the creation of a purchasing center, "which allows municipalities with fewer resources to acquire goods and services with fewer obstacles, as well as the creation of a technical-legal assistance service to facilitate municipal work."

In statements after the meeting, María Dolores Corujo wanted to make clear "the objective of this new stage of relations between the island institution and the municipalities: unblocking." "The Cabildo is here to collaborate, to build bridges, to dialogue. The confrontation, the blockade and the persecution are over," he said.

The first vice president, Jacobo Medina, announced that "work is already underway on projects of the Municipal Cooperation Plan" and the intention is that "these have a multi-year character." In this way, Medina stressed, "stability is given to these lines of institutional cooperation."

For his part, the mayor of Tinajo, Jesús Machín, thanked the institutional visit and expressed his intention to maintain the collaboration as proposed this Monday.
